We Carry Our Dog Around On A Stick!!
A Loved Family Member!
Do you love your pet? Does he sleep with you, play with you, know when you're sad? Do you take your "baby" with you when you shop, run errands, go on trips?
And, of course, you would never leave your dog/pet in a hot car!!
Our dog, Buddy, is one of a kind. My dog is better than your dog...but, I must confess. My dog, has never been told he's a dog. What's more, I just don't have the heart to break it to him. Oh well, what the woof.
He's sure he's our "forever child." I love waking up to this cheerful bundle of fun, always facing the day with a dazzling smile. Buddy fetches his leash to go outside, picks up his toys, eats people food that is healthy, loves his treats, tells us when it's time to go to bed, and urges us to take him for drives.
Every morning, he makes his rounds on the golf cart, clears the site of all boogers, makes sure there are no stray cats and that all people on the property have been properly greeted. And, greeted. Deafeningly greeted.
He is the boss, and we freely admit to being his slave.
Thankfully, he is a good master. He feeds us regularly, bathes us, and keeps us safe. Always eager for playtime, his favorite game is seek and destroy, where his daddy hides the toy of choice, and Buddy hunts until the culprit is found. When Buddy had about 8 toys, we named them all interesting names such as Monkey, Bear, Squirrel, and even "Peanut Butter."
He is so smart. You could mention a toy by name, and Buddy would pick that toy up and bring it to you. After his toys reached "dozens" in number, he did get a bit confused, but still knows many by names.
He's smart, but of course he's not EINSTEIN. Buddy is full of entertaining love and joy.
No disrespect to cat's intended, a site all about felines, "The Cat's Meow!" will be up soon. Cat's have raised me for years. One, Prissy Kai, lived to be 27, and raised my oldest son. She was a loving protector. Now, my lovely cat Sassy, is also getting up in years. She's 17 and is re-gaining good health from a recent illness. She completely owns me.
As a foster parent, we were careful to keep our pets protected. Kids in crisis can often be mean to animals. On the other "paw" animals often calm the troubled soul. Protect your pets, though, if you have doubts about your friends or home guests!!
If you have a pooch that you'd like to bark about, I am inviting you to go to my new blog dedicated exclusively to dogs, register, and come back within 24 hours for your own blog page. Your lovely tales will appear on the front page of the site!
You can post a picture of your family member as well. (Please, no videoes.)
I will be adding Buddy stories several times a week. Come Bark About Your Dog! (You can also put a link to your site in your posts, thus providing a solid back link for you! One that is NOT a "no follow" link!! -- a much stronger link to increase your traffic!)

I had a dog named Atlas that was about as wide as he was long, a rolly polly little chiuahua that used to love to squeze through the back fence to chase cars. He was black and white splotched, and about 9 inches long. Anyway, one day there was a screetching of tires and we ran outside to see Atlas breathing his last few breaths. Poor little thing. He lived and loved hard, and died laying there in the grass looking up at us for help. Wish we could have.
Oh my,,,these sad stories make me cry. Years and years ago we gave my mom a dog we had named Barney. Some kind of beagle mix. Black/brown fur and just the sweetest dog. One day, a policeman came to my mom's door, holding Barney, he was dead. Struck also by a car. My mom was so devastated it landed her in the hospital. Some 20 yrs later I still grieve his loss :(

I'm the boss of my dog, or at least I'd like to think so.
The one thing I can't seem to change is her manner in greeting dogs and people on a leash-walk. She's a huge, butt-wagging Goldie who goes bananas over people and dogs, lunging at the leash (which includes a pinch collar) at all times. I've worked with a trainer on this, but the dog celebrated her ninth birthday yesterday, and it looks like she will be forever out of control on this one aspect of her life.
She's no Einstein. She has four toys, and when I say, "Bring rope", she brings BoBo. If I say bring Bobo, she brings Woossie. If I say bring Woossie, she brings Shag. Well, I only got her a year ago, and she was 8 years old then.
Hey, train your kids early and do it right.
Cool Hub, Marisue.
What a great idea! Thanks for coming up with BarkAboutYourDog.com!
Interesting hub good idea.
Hi M. I don't have my own dog, but I see my mom's (Shy, she told me her name soon after we met) regularly. We're special friends because she found me, one day as I was walking home from work, when she was a puppy. I stopped, knelt down to pet her and she was all over me. The owner asked, "Want a dog?" ...I suspect the chubby little spoiled boy was abusive to her.
I wish I could post a picture of her. She's incredibly adorable... a border collie mix with a Lassie nobility thing goin' on. Beautiful, and oh so spoiled and pampered now. As she should be.
